Preserving magnificence
Solo show by Bharati Sagar
Date: Jan 29, 2023
Preserving Magnificence is a powerful body of work born from grief and urgency — grief over the devastation of natural habitats and the alarming loss of species, and urgency to act before more life forms disappear forever. Disturbed by reports of extinction and inspired by images of wildlife cautiously reclaiming urban spaces during the lockdown, Bharathi Sagar created this series as both a tribute and a call to conscience.

concept note
The exhibition celebrates the awe-inspiring beauty of the Earth and its diverse inhabitants, while drawing attention to the fragile state of their existence. Through these works, the artist seeks to create awareness and provoke responsibility toward conservation and coexistence.
Opening on 6th August, the show is curated as an awareness initiative, with Reves Art Gallery hosting and inviting the leadership of the Wildlife Conservation Society of Karnataka and other distinguished dignitaries who are working tirelessly to protect endangered species. The organisation has welcomed this initiative, recognising the role of art in amplifying conservation voices.
As part of this commitment, 10% of the proceeds from the exhibition will be contributed to wildlife conservation efforts.
Preserving Magnificence stands as both a homage to the planet’s splendour and a reminder that safeguarding it will require collective, Herculean effort ,so future generations may inherit not just stories of what once was, but living wonders to cherish
